What is Steel Sheet Pile?
Steel sheet piles are a type of steel sections with a vertical interlocking system, common shapes are u, z and flat web. Hot rolled steel sheet piles can be used for deep foundation pits, high water pressure, complex geology, permanent structures, or projects with strict requirements for water stopping and safety, cold formed steel sheet piles are an economical, lightweight, and temporary solution for shallow foundations, small trenches, temporary enclosures, low water-stopping requirements, and tight budgets.
Steel sheet pile working principle: A group of steel sheet piles are interconnected through the interlocking joints to form a continuous, solid retaining steel sheet pile wall. Customized steel sheet pile systems are developed for various applications for earth and water retaining, the main applications are projects such as foundation pit support, embankments, docks, and cofferdams.

Steel Sheet Pile Supply from AGICO
Steel Sheet Piling for Sale
Hot rolled steel sheet piles for sale from AGICO can be classified by section shape and common grades in different standards: JIS, KSF, EN and GB standards. They are produced with the special interlock design of larssen sheet pile. Here are the larssen interlock design drawing for u, z and flat web sheet piles:

The interlocking steel structures formed through high-temperature rolling. Their exceptional strength, strict dimensional specifications, and precise interlocking provide excellent water-blocking properties, making them the preferred choice for many projects. We offer a variety of hot-rolled steel sheet piles, including Z, U and flat web series to meet the structural and economic requirements.
Choose Hot Rolled Steel Sheet Piles by Type
AGICO supplies hot rolled steel sheet piles in 6 shape forms: U Type, Z Type and Flat Web Type Sheet Pile, C9 Corner Sheet Pile, hat type sheet piles, h beam piles. Steel grades range covers SY/SYW295, SY/SYW390, and SY390, etc. They have better bending resistance than cold rolled sheet piles. Z-shaped sheet piles feature thickening treatment in heavily corroded areas for even greater corrosion resistance, making them suitable for high-salinity environments and deepwater construction. Their precise dimensions (a-b ≥ 4mm) allow for cross-compatibility with similar international products. Hot-rolled sheet piles are recyclable, aligning with green construction principles.
Choose Steel Sheet Pile by Standard
AGICO sells steel sheet piles in various standards and grades: Japan standard – JIS, European Standard – EN, China Standard – GB, which are all mainstream steel sheet piles standards in the world, customer can choose the steel sheet piles according to the familiar standads and grades:

Note: When selecting sheet pile types for projects, it's essential to consult the specific standard's detailed parameter tables and compare key data such as section modulus, moment of inertia, weight per meter, and interlock form to ensure engineering safety.
Hot Rolled Steel Sheet Pile Manufacturing Capacity
AGICO has a rich history of exporting profiles and hot rolled steel sheet piles. We have supply factory of a leading domestic production base for ultra-large specialized steel sheet piles. Equipped with the world’s largest continuous steel rolling mill, the steel mill primarily produces large Z-shaped steel sheet pile, U-shaped steel sheet pile and flat web sheet pile, corner sheet pile, as well as H-shaped pile, and other world-leading ultra-large specialized steel profiles.
These products are widely used in key domestic and international projects, including railways, ships, bridges, offshore drilling platforms, and large-scale specialized facilities. In 2016, the factory successfully trial-rolled Asia’s first hot-rolled European-standard Z-shaped steel sheet pile and began mass production, breaking the European and American monopoly on the global market and ending Asia’s historical inability to produce hot-rolled Z-shaped steel sheet piles. This marked the AGICO achievement of the technology and capabilities to produce world-class ultra-large specialized profiles.

Hot Rolled Steel Sheet Pile Manufacturing Process
1. Steel Smelting

Steel Smelting: Our hot-rolled steel sheet pile production line utilizes advanced technology throughout the entire process, ensuring steel sheet pile strength and reliability from raw material. Steel Smelting begins with steelmaking in a blast furnace or electric arc furnace. Refining treatments in converters, LF furnaces, and VD furnaces effectively remove impurities and enhance purity, ensuring exceptional steel quality. The steel billets are then formed in a continuous billet caster. After uniform heating in a heating furnace, they enter the rolling stage.
2. Hot-Rolling

Hot-Rolling Process: During the hot-rolling stage, the steel billets pass through a roughing mill and a high-pressure water descaling system before entering the 9-stand universal rolling mill, where they are formed into precise sheet pile cross-sections. After hot-rolling, the steel sheet piles are cut using hot saws, then pre-bent and cooled, and then horizontally and vertically straightened to ensure dimensional accuracy and shape stability. The last step is drilling, milling. After final inspection for quality control, the final product is ready for stock or delivery.
Tips for Choosing the Right Sheet Pile Type for Your Project
- Project requirements: Excavation depth and shape, soil conditions (earth pressure, water pressure), water-stopping requirements, surrounding environment (whether buildings or pipelines require protection), and design allowable deformation.
- Steel Sheet Pile performance: Focus on section modulus (bending resistance), moment of inertia (deformation resistance), and weight per meter (which correlates with cost and construction difficulty). These parameters must be determined through rigorous structural calculations.
- Construction conditions: Existing piling equipment capacity, construction space, and construction schedule requirements.
- Economic and environmental considerations: Consider the one-time investment, reusability (rental or recycling), and overall cost. Hot-rolled steel sheet piles are reusable and are a green, low-carbon building material.
| Type | Structural Features | Primary Applications |
|---|---|---|
| U-Type (Larssen) | U-shaped profile with interlocks on both sides; can be used singly or in pairs. Advantage: Simple installation; good watertightness at interlocks; high recyclability for temporary works. | Municipal excavations; temporary cofferdams; utility corridors; urban retaining walls. |
| Z-Type (AZ Series) | Z-shaped profile with interlocks set away from the neutral axis. | Ports and quay walls; deep excavations; river/shoreline protection; flood defenses. |
| Flat Web | Flat web; often installed in pairs to form a box-like section; compatible with pipe/H-pile king piles. Advantage: Very large moment of inertia; high overall stiffness; suitable for heavy-duty, permanent structures. | Large cofferdams; dry docks and heavy quay structures; bridge abutments and foundations. |
| FSP | Narrower profiles common in JP/APAC catalogs; robust interlocks. | Water conservancy projects; deep excavations; structural strengthening in tough conditions. |
| PU | Lighter profiles for small to medium works. Advantage: Lower weight and cost; flexible handling; suitable where loads are moderate. | Small/medium excavations; temporary cofferdams; urban canals and revetments. |
