What is Structural Steel Truss
Structural steel truss is a steel structure member composed of several members connected at both ends by hinges. It can be divided into planar trusses and space trusses. Based on the cross-sectional shape of its constituent parts, it can be further classified into tubular trusses, H-shaped steel trusses, box-section trusses, angle steel trusses, etc. A steel truss generally consists of a top chord, bottom chord, vertical members, diagonal web members, and inter-truss bracing. Steel trusses use less steel than solid-web beams, have a lighter structural weight, and greater stiffness, making them widely used in high-rise buildings, long-span structures, and bridges.

Steel Truss Applications:
Based on shape, it can be categorized as parallel chord trusses, triangular trusses, arch trusses, trapezoidal trusses, and Vierendeel trusses. The steel structure of various towers, such as masts, television towers, and transmission line towers, often utilizes space frame steel trusses composed of three, four, or more planar trusses.

A tubular truss is a lattice structure in which all members are circular tubular members connected at the ends. In most cases, the members of a tubular truss are only subjected to axial tension or compression, and the stress is evenly distributed across the cross section, thus making it easy to utilize the material’s properties. These characteristics make tubular truss structures economical in terms of material usage and have a low structural weight.

An angle steel truss is a low cost load-bearing frame system composed of multiple angle steel sections. These members are connected at nodes to form a triangular system to bear and transfer loads.
Due to the lightweight and low-cost nature of angle steel sections, angle steel trusses are widely used in roof structure, industrial plant buildings. The cross-section is typically a T-shape composed of double-angle steel.

The cross-sectional shape of H-beam trusses is economical and rational, with good mechanical properties. Compared with ordinary I-beams, H-beams have the advantages of a larger section modulus, lighter weight, and metal savings, reducing the weight of building structures by 30-40%. H beam welding and assembling can save up to 25% of welding and riveting work.
H-beam Trusses are commonly used in large buildings requiring high load-bearing capacity and good cross-sectional stability.

A box truss is a structure consisting of 3 or more chords connected by transverse and/or diagonal structural members. It is a truss system that forms a closed box-shaped cross-section by connecting horizontal and diagonal members.
High overall stiffness and Lightweight make it suitable for the following applications: Large roof truss structures, Bridge truss beams, TV towers and communication towers, Stage lighting truss systems, Main beams of large gantry cranes
Prefabricated Steel Truss Types for Sale
Prefabricated steel trusses are high-strength, lightweight steel structures widely used in stadiums, exhibition halls, bridges, airports and industrial buildings. AGICO sells prefabricated roof trusses, space trusses, bridge trusses, crane girder trusses and stage trusses in carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum. With optimized design, easy installation and surface treatments (galvanized/painted), AGICO supplies the following common steel truss types, which can provide durable and cost-effective solutions for your large-span projects.

Triangular Roof Truss
Introduction: Triangular roof truss is a lightweight triangular roof support structure for industrial and warehouse buildings. It is one of the most traditional and stable forms of roof trusse structures, composed of several interconnected triangles. It provides efficient load distribution and is widely used in lightweight roof systems.
Raw Materials: It is usually made of angle steel, square hollow sections (SHS), or channel steel.
Applications: Industrial buildings, warehouses, workshops, and exhibition halls.
Features:
- High stability and simple geometry
- Easy fabrication and economical
- Lightweight yet capable of carrying large roof loads
Tubular Space Truss
Introduction: Tubular space truss is a type of 3-dimensional truss system composed of tubular members. This 3-dimensional truss system, constructed from round or square tubes, offers uniform load distribution and high rigidity, making it a typical spatial load-bearing structure.
Raw Materials: It is made of Circular tubes (CHS), square tubes (SHS/RHS), spherical or conical joints, and high-strength bolts.
Applications: Gymnasiums, airport terminals, exhibition halls, large stations, and plaza roofs.
Features:
- Spatial load-bearing and high stability;
- Lightweight, high strength, and large spans;
- Various shapes allow for the formation of various curved surfaces.

Trapezoidal Truss
Introduction: Trapezoid-shaped truss is widely used for roofs and medium-span structures. A truss with top and bottom chords arranged in a trapezoidal shape. It allows for a moderate roof pitch while optimizing the height of the structure.
Raw Materials: Fabricated steel plates, square or rectangular hollow sections, angle steel.
Applications: Sports halls, exhibition centers, factories, and auditoriums.
Features:
- Good for medium-span roof structures
- Compact and aesthetic appearance
- Reduced roof height for space efficiency
Bridge Truss
Introduction: AGICO supplies 2 types of bridge trusses: A pedestrian bridge truss is designed for foot traffic or lightweight passageways; high-speed railway bridge truss for railway bridges construction. A pedestrian or railway bridge structure using a truss frame as the main beam, available in Pratt, Warren, or Howe styles.
Raw Materials: H-beams, square tubing, round tubing, angle steel, steel plates.
Applications: Pedestrian bridges, elevated walkways, factory corridors, small river-crossing bridges.
Structural Features:
- Can be integrated with building facade design, aesthetically pleasing.
- Lightweight and high rigidity;
- Fast construction speed, easy on-site assembly;

Tower and Mast Truss
Introduction: Tower and mast trusses are tall trussed frames used for telecommunication, lighting, or observation purposes. A tall truss or tubular structure used to support antennas, lighting, power, or monitoring equipment. The tower truss is a self-supporting structure, with the mast typically secured by cables.
Raw Materials: Seamless round tubes, angle steel, hot-dip galvanized steel pipes, Q345 or Q420 high-strength steel, bolted joints.
Applications: Communication towers, power transmission towers, light poles, wind turbine support towers, and monitoring towers.
Features:
- Tall and stable, with good wind and earthquake resistance;
- Can be manufactured and transported in sections;
- Simple maintenance and long service life.

Tubular Truss Manufacturing Process
Finished steel pipe → Steel pipe cutting → Hot bending → Component assembly → Structural welding (including stiffening ribs) → Ultrasonic flaw detection → Finished tubular truss
This process ensures precise manufacturing and quality control of the tubular truss from raw materials to finished product.
- Raw Material Preparation: The process begins with finished steel pipes, the basic raw material for manufacturing tubular trusses.
- Pipe Cutting and Forming: Steel Pipe Cutting: According to the design drawings, the finished steel pipes are cut to the required specific lengths and angles.
- Hot Bending of Steel Pipes: The cut steel pipes are heated and bent using a hot bending machine to form the complex curved components required in the tubular truss structure, ultimately obtaining hot-bent pipe fittings.
- Assembly and Welding: The cut and hot-bent steel pipe components are assembled according to the design. They are firmly connected together using structural welding processes, and structural stiffening ribs are welded at key nodes to enhance overall strength.
- Quality Inspection: After welding, the weld quality is rigorously inspected using non-destructive testing methods such as ultrasonic testing to ensure that the welded joints are free of internal defects and meet safety standards.
